Bryndefaid Stud. Welsh Mountain Ponies.

The studs aim is to breed a type of Mountain Pony which is up to height and which will go on to excel in any of the ridden disciplines. To this end we have been very successful over the last 10 years with our ponies !

The highlight for us being the Supreme M&M Mini Championship at HOYS in 2002 with Bryndefaid Patsy, we have also had great success in Lead Rein with B. Pingu, B. Picasso, B. Pugsley, B. Anja, and B. Amos. In 1st Ridden with B. Annwyld, B. Bostyn, B. Doli-Glwt and in open ridden and workers with B. Amethyst, B. Dylan Thomas, B. Diafol-Coch, B. Angus, B.Arran, B. Hansel, B. Barnaby and B. Hamish. We would like to thank all those who have shown our ponies over the years, for choosing Bryndefaid and helping establish our success.

We have been very fortunate in the last few years that Kathleen & Roddy's daughter Catherine is very keen and she has been able to bring out a number of the ponies with great success. 2007 was Catherine's first season in First Ridden and she had a great season on B. Pingu coming a close 2nd to the HOY's qualifier at The Royal Highland, where he won his open class ridden by producer Kim Stewart, this followed on from The Scottish NPS where He had been Mini Champion and Reserve Ridden Supreme of the Show.
